It’s customary for the Super Bowl champions to be invited to the White House for a meet-and-greet with the president. But this isn’t an ordinary year, and Donald Trump isn’t a customary president.

Several members of the New England Patriots have preemptively spurned Trump’s invitation to rub shoulders. Nevermind the fact that quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick appear to be in Trump’s corner. Apparently, The Donald will only be happy if EVERYONE comes to his party.

OK, Donald. We know you’re not big on self-criticism (or any criticism, really) but perhaps you should be asking yourself WHY these players are giving you the stiff-arm.

Hint — it might be the racism.

“With the president having so many strong opinions and prejudices, I believe certain people might feel accepted there while others won’t,” Patriots safety Devin McCourtny told Time. And runningback LeGarrette Blount told an NFL Network reporter: “I just don’t feel welcome in that house, I’ll just leave it at that.”

Other Patriots who’ve already dumped the Trump visit include Martellus Bennett, Alan Branch, Dont’a Hightower and Chris Long.

Maybe it’s not about racism, though? Perhaps these Patriots players are mad that Trump — who claims to be a YUGE Patriots fan — gave up on them at halftime. Yes, it’s true. He actually left his own Super Bowl party.

Sorry, #45. The New England Patriots don’t need bandwagon fans to be great again. They’re already great.

In fact, maybe they only won because you stopped watching?
