During a press conference, journalist April Ryan (Washington bureau chief for the American Urban Radio Networks), who happens to be black, asked Trump if he has plans to include the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) in his planning on urban areas. A fair question that any solid journalist might ask. But, well, we wouldn’t be here if Trump had an answer that didn’t leave heads spinning.
Trump starts his response with a confused, “Am I gonna include who?” So, Ryan repeats herself. Trump then goes on to say (while talking over her), “Well, I would. I tell you what, do you want to set up the meeting? Do you want to set up the meeting? Are they friends of yours? Set up the meeting.” Meanwhile, Ryan is trying to explain that she’s just a reporter and has no intention of setting up the meeting for Trump. See the video clip below for the exchange.

Following the press conference, Ryan took to Twitter to denounce Trump’s request.
I am a journalist not a convener! But thank you for answering my questions. https://t.co/fe9cGXG46w

We should also note that, as pointed out by the CBC itself following the press conference, a letter from the CBC dated January 19th had already invited Trump to “engage in an earnest effort to work together on these issues.” That letter went unanswered, however.

This is just another glaring sign (in an increasingly-long list of signs) that Trump is unfit to serve as president. At this point, all we can say is…
